business machine knowledge center On Sept. 11, 2011, the National September 11 Memorial will open to the public. The Memorial is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, including the World Trade Center site, Shanksville, Pa., and the Pentagon, as well as those lost in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993. Sharp Electronics is very proud to work closely with The National September 11 Memorial & Museum. This past Wednesday evening, at the National 9-11 Memorial's Annual Dinner, Sharp Electronics was honored to receive a special award as the "2011 Global Partner" for our support of the Memorial. Our relationship includes financial and product support, including all of the audio-visual equipment for the Memorial and Museum, and our counsel on the latest technology advancements. Initially, we have provided Sharp LCD monitors that together make up two Sharp Video Walls. Before the Memorial opens on September 11, the Sharp Video Walls serve as a countdown clock, highlighting the Memorial's progress and plans, and providing a glimpse into the future of this important site. Once the Memorial opens, over 80 Sharp visual displays will provide a highly visual and moving way for people who come from around the world to learn about the events of 9/11 and to commemorate that time in our collective history. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute Sharp innovation to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. If you or your company wishes to play a part in the Memorial, please visit www.sharpusa.com for the opportunity to sponsor a cobblestone on the 9/11 Memorial plaza.
